A fab lab is a digital studio that empowers you to turn ideas into reality – from design to fabrication. At BNY Fab Lab Carnegie Science Center, we provide hands-on experiences that introduce you to the latest maker technology, sparking creativity, innovation, and invention. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced maker, our BNY Fab Lab is your space to explore, create, and make.
What to expect at BNY Fab Lab:
- FLASH (Fab Lab Arts and Science Hangout) – Included with General Admission, these sessions allow visitors to freely explore BNY Fab Lab equipment and technology during daily museum hours.
- FLASH Workshops – Ticket cost for Flash Workshops generously covered by BNY. Capacity is limited; sign up in person in the Fab Lab on the day of the workshop.
- Accessible for All Skill Levels – Designed for ages 8 and up, no prior experience is necessary. Our expert team will guide you.
- All Equipment Provided – No need to bring anything – just your curiosity and creativity.
- Workshops & Learning Experiences – Take a deeper dive with scheduled public workshops like 3D Printing 101. Click here to learn more and to purchase tickets.
- Fab Lab on the Go – Bring the fab lab experience to your school, library, or community organization with our BNY Mobile Fab Lab.
- Field Trip Opportunities – Ideal for grades 3 and up, groups can choose between a hands-on project workshop or an exciting engineering challenge.
